Feb 22-24, 2008 - ConNoogahttp://www.connooga.comConNooga There will be a new convention in Chattanooga that everyone here should enjoy. We have heard the cry and have answered the call. Actually, we complained about other cons so much, we were finally told to "do something about it", so we are! 
As the website says: "Why are we doing this? Simple. We want to bring all the fandoms together. We are Horror, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Gaming, Fan Film, Comic, Cosplay, Anime, Music, Entertainment enthusiasts and we want our convention to reflect that. A convention that brings in celebrities, panels, workshops, contest and fun... A Convention YOU help organize by giving us your ideas, suggestions and input!" The idea is that we want a convention that everyone can have fun with. If anybody here has any suggestions, we definitly want to hear them. We have a forum set up at http://connooga.informe.com/, but if you want to post some stuff here, I will gladly pass them along as well. Now, what you guys may be interested in is this: We will have an Anime Music Video contest.  I'm putting together the rules now, but it would be great if anyone here would like to help out. I'm pushing for a room dedicated to running anime the entire weekend with a block of time set aside to run the AMV contest. Submissions would be sent in and must be screened to make sure they adhere to whatever rules we have in place. Plus, we will need to come up with a schedule for the weekend. This can include any panels or workshops (or whatever) along with showing anime. Basically, what would you like to see in a dedicated anime room?

For anyone interested in being part of the staff of ConNooga, we will have our first meeting with everyone on March 25th - 2:00pm - at the Finley Lecture Hall at the Choo Choo.
As soon as we get everything in order (in the next day or two), we'll have a physical address to where we can put up the complete rules for the Anime Music Video contest. We'll also have a Fan Film Festival. I'm pushing for a dedicated Anime room, but we need to hear from you. This is convention shaped by the fans, so if you don't ask for it, it may not happen! So... if you would like to help out (not just with anime-related stuff, but anywhere else), please come to the meeting on the 25th. Thanks! |

This Sunday... The rules for the Anime Music Video contest are up, but we'll need people watching them to help judge (hint hint). We're having a costume contest, but what divisions should we have?
