what kind of wig is it? long, short, synthetic, quality? and what character? i don't know about anyone in town but there's a slew of people on cosplay.com that do wig commissions, other than katie bair (personally, i don't think katie bair rocks the world like some people do)...

also, i remember something about a Anime wig stylist being in the dealer's room at dragoncon? i found the thread on c.com about it:
http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=66849, although i didn't get to see her booth and stuff.

i've always wanted to have a professionally styled wig, but i'm way too budget-obsessed, so i style my own, but i don't follow all the proper rules (i.e., dyeing with sharpies, using caulk, and adding in wefts for pigtails and such)...but it's easily learned. i can hook you up with a ton of tutorials... there are tons of forum topics floating around on the 'net about styling stuff.
let me know..

its going to be a wig for dark, from DN angel. medium length, just wondering if someone could style it for me. i had someone style my edward elric wig for AWA, the problem is i didn't get it in time for the con, but for my Kenshin wig, i got it styled at the con, and it worked great. if ya know anyone on cosplay.com who styles wigs, give their username and i'll get in touch with them.

here's a list of a couple of the more *talkative* wig people on cosplay.com that have nice pics of their work in anime wigs:

Tia

Loki-sama

Chibi Ice Wolf

+GoGo+

megumibish

Gren

Space Invader (i love her stuff..)

whatever you do, ignore katie bair. she's got a serious attitude problem, and i think there are many more talented people out there (i.e., above..)
anyways, check out their galleries and see if there's stuff you like and, i guess, contact them? good luck!!

if all else fails you can always order this wig http://www.maxwigs.com/Lacey-Cost...-Discount-Version-Wigs-p2103.html and then add in additional longer lengths of matching hair from here : http://drlocks.net/cart/silky-straight-kanekalon-braid-p-217.html in medium purple) and then style it to Dark's spikey, random look using the less-toxic caulk. that's pretty much what the wig stylist will do.
also, if you don't want to deal with ordering the silky kanekalon hair from doc locks, you can just order this wig instead : http://store.cosplay.com/product....ctid=16290&cat=304&page=1 in dark purple... or this in purple : http://hal.onthetop.com/wigpage.a...tegory_Masquerade/productid_linda

Tia made my edward elric wig, the problem was i didn't get it in time for AWA this year, and it seemed to take her forever to do the wig. so i am not sure about her, but i may try some of the others, have u tried any of them???

no..i haven't tried any of them. i style my own wigs to keep on my budget, and also 'cause it sort of fun....but i'm impressed with their work!
i'm sure if you told them upfront that you had a set date it needed to be here by (i'd tell them a full week prior to the con), you could get it done..

well tia started working on the ed wig about 5 months before the con, and i stll didn't get it in time, i am not sure how long it takes, but that seemed like plenty of time to get it done. but it still got here the following monday after the con.

dang...that's no good.

actually, that's unacceptable. an elric wig is simple: part in the middle, spike and trim the front, braid and bind the back and set in place. three weeks, tops, if she only worked on it 10 or 15 minutes a day: it's highly unlikely that you have to add extra wefts to an elric wig because the braid is in the center. how much did she charge you?

i wouldn't have paid her. excuses or no, she's a commissioner and part of her job is getting the stuff to you on time.

i get all my wigs from cosplay.com or acewigs.com which is their provider. if you want the same wig that hersha got i got him the nicole wig in a deep red color from cosplay.com. it's not to terribly expensive and its very high quality.
