you mean this?:

i think that they'd have it at Ace/Lowe's/Home Depot...but if not, you may want to try Walter A. Wood's downtown, or Floyd's Hardware in Soddy Daisy. if i recall, they're geared more towards construction rather than home improvement, like the major chains.

that stuff looks insanely sharp once cut, dude. good luck...you're a brave man.

although, i'm wondering...are you going to make the whole fan out of the aluminum, or just the frame?

also, if you're near it, yet again, the big lots in hixson (and maybe in brainerd, but i'm not sure) has sheets of lightweight metal for embossing and using in scrapbooks.
it's metal, but thin and very pliable (like a thinner version of flashing) but still holds shape and detail like tin foil. $1.00 for each 12x12 sheet. the catch? it's fuschia on one side, silver on the other..but...i'm sure you could paint it. it'll be in the scrapbooking "section" next to school and office supplies, cards, and general household crap.
if you can't find the flashing, maybe that would work.

cool, i am planning on making the fan itself out of the aluminum flashing, it should be pretty easy, and of course i am going to wear gloves while i work with it, so i don't cut up my hands.
